Isn't it strange how one can make a friend in a minute and yet you know it will be forever.
Some friends become friends over time.
Recently, I was in touch with a friend from many years ago. We were close but drifted into our lives separately. Off down our own roads (mine often the road less travelled)
Over the years we exchanged Christmas cards and every now and again we would talk on the phone. We met up in person a couple of times and it was always a lovely time for both of us. The odd thing is that even though it has been, what, 40 years we can stll get on the phone and talk for hours as if we had seen each other yesterday. Our lives have gone in very different directions but I still want to know everything she has done and she is the same. Friendship is a marvellous thing, it breaks down time, some friendships can transport you to your youth (when we were the beautiful people lol), yet still remind you that you have come a long way and have definitely achieved something. Thanks for reminding me Betty. It's always been a pleasure to know you.
Then there are the friends I have made here in DA. A hugely generous group of creative and inspiring people from so many different walks of life, different countries and different art styles. Writers, photographers, fractal artists, poets. I am blessed to have you in my life.
When the 'black dog' (depression) wakes up beside me, i know in the back of my mind that no matter what, i can phone you or message you or email you and some of you will know what's happening. When I am inactive on DA for a while there are words of encouragement. You're all bloody marvellous. Old friends and new friends I salute you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Glorious weather here in Victoria, Oz. A little rain this week. Enough to fill the water tanks.
